Environmental Policy

This Environmental Policy covers all aspects of Axiomatic Technology Ltd operations - from good housekeeping measures such as using both side of the paper prior to recycling, to ensuring that investments made are environmentally sound. The policy also commits us to promoting suppliers and services that adhere to environmentally sound ways of operation.
All staff must have access to this Environmental Policy through the staff information file held on computer. The Environmental Policy will be regularly referred to in decision-making and through team meetings. It is to be included during induction of new staff, board members and volunteers. It shall be reviewed annually by the Directors of Axiomatic Technology Ltd.
The principals of the 3R's
1. Reducing: Waste where possible by think about what we buy and how we use it. Non-essential documents and emails will not be printed. As a company we minimise paper use by using email and avoiding direct mail campaigns where possible as well as, regularly reviewing which external publications are essential, and if not are cancelled thus reducing waste and saving money. We will endeavour to avoid consuming disposable cups, food packaging, for event / entertaining purposes.
2. RE-Use: Wherever possible by trying to find a second life for items especially paper, office stationary and packaging. Scrap paper is reused for taking messages, writing notes or draft copies of documents. We are also committed to the re-use of envelopes and packaging where possible.
3. Recycle: as the least preferred option of the 3R's, all paper, card, glass, tin will be recycled. Toner cartridges and inkjets will also be refilled or recycled where possible. If office furniture or IT equipment is being replaced then Axiomatic Technology Ltd will ensure that equipment is recycled or disposed off responsibly. As a company we adhere to the WEEE Directive by offering our customers the opportunity to return old equipment to us to be handled correctly. As a company we actively promote recycling both internally and amongst customers and suppliers. We will use / support social economy organisations to recycle materials as appropriate.
Axiomatic Technology Ltd will buy recycled where possible. As a company we use 100% post-consumer waste recycle paper. When purchasing other office equipment recycled options are always considered.
Axiomatic Technology Ltd will seek Fair traded and environmentally sound goods. In particular sourcing of electricians, plumbers & general maintenance for the building, we use local contractors and suppliers to reduce mileage. All food consumption where possible is organic and fair-traded e.g. coffee / Tea etc.
We ensure also that our employees have access to a pension scheme that offers ethical investments.
Axiomatic Technology Ltd uses public transport where possible, and where a journey requires a car we promote car sharing amongst the staff.
Axiomatic Technology Ltd will seek to minimise the use of energy in its activities, we try to minimise waste of energy by evaluating operations and ensuring they are efficient as possible. Lights and equipment are only switched on when in use and not out of routine. In the design and sourcing of products and software solutions Axiomatic Technology Ltd take energy consumption into consideration and are constantly developing solutions that require less energy in both their manufacture and use.
Axiomatic as a company meets or exceeds all environmental legislation that is related to the running of the company.
